11:00 AM: Scholarship Agenda: Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How?
According to the 2018 ACOTE standards, scholarship agenda captures scholarship in the areas of teaching, research, and/or service. It engages faculty in academically relevant works that simultaneously meets the campus’ mission and goals, meets the needs of the program, and is reflected in the curriculum design (p. 51). So, what exactly does this mean for programs being asked to submit a strategic plan which articulates future vision and scholarship agenda to guide the program (2018 ACOTE Standard A.5.1.)? This course is designed to clarify the who, what, when, where, why and how of scholarship agenda as it pertains to programs for each of the preparation levels.
Objectives:
1. Participants will be able to explain the process of developing a scholarship agenda relevant to the program.
2. Participants will be able identify resources and tools available when establishing and documenting a scholarship agenda.
3. Participants will be able to describe methods for demonstrating the relationship between the scholarship agenda and the strategic plan.
