Below are some updates and reminders from ACOTE.

ANNUAL REPORTS DUE FEBRUARY 4, 2023

The Annual Report to ACOTE and Faculty Profiles are now available for completion in ACOTE Online (eAccreditation Portal). The Annual Report and Faculty Profiles must be completed by ALL accredited programs, including those programs with Interim Reports and Self-Study Reports due this year and programs that have been recently accredited. An annual report guide can be found on our website under RESOURCES. Please visit www.acoteonline.org for more information.

2018 STANDARDS CLARIFICATIONS

A.1.5. Notification Requirements

A reminder that Standard A.1.5. requires program to Inform ACOTE within 30 days of the resignation of the program director or appointment of a new or interim program director.

A.4.2. Publication of Program Outcomes and A.4.3. Publication of ACOTE Information

Please ensure your website is current and accurate (see Sample Program Webpage under Resources at https://acoteonline.org/accreditation-explained/resources/).  Evaluators will be reviewing your websites for accuracy.

The ACOTE Educational Standards Review Committee (ESRC)

ACOTE has reviewed and approved Draft 1 of the ACOTE Standards. The Draft 1 and a call for comment will be sent out in February or March 2023. There will also be an open hearing at AOTA INSPIRE.  In addition, you can always provide feedback to the Accreditation Department (accred@aota.org) regarding the ACOTE Standards.

POLICY CHANGES AND CLARIFICATIONS

ACOTE POLICY V.B.2. ADDITIONAL LOCATIONS 

ACOTE has updated the Policy IV.B.2. Additional Locations (https://acoteonline.org/accreditation-explained/policies/) If you have a distance education cohort and/or an additional location, please review the updated policy to ensure continued compliance.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Conversation with ACOTE

ACOTE will be providing program directors, faculty, and other stakeholders an opportunity to have a conversation with ACOTE. The session will be held February 9, 2023 at 8:00 pm Eastern Time. Please register to attend the session here.

Self-Study Workshop

We have slots available for the May 2023 Self-Study Workshop. The Self-Study Preparation Workshop is designed to meet the needs of program directors and faculty preparing for an upcoming self-study review and new program directors wanting to understand more about the accreditation process. New Program Workshop

Thinking about starting an OT or OTA program? Or have you started the process? This is the workshop for you. The Accreditation Department will be having a 1-day workshop on May 3, 2023. Please check our website for more information and to register.

Interim Report Information Session

Back by popular demand! The Accreditation Department will be hosting a series of information sessions starting in February. Please check our website for specific dates and times (https://acoteonline.org/events-workshops/).

REMINDERS

      • Ensure your “FACULTY” tab in the eAccreditation portal is updated.

      • It is the responsibility of the program director to remain current with the most recent Standards Interpretive Guide and ACOTE® policies located on www.acoteonline.org. Updates to these documents are reported on the ACOTE® website after each ACOTE® meeting.

    RESOURCES

    The ACOTE website (www.acoteonline.org) is a valuable resource for information. You can find information on program numbers, past ACOTE actions, past newsletters, frequently asked questions, forms, templates and much more. 

    The Accreditation Department is also a good resource. Please do not hesitate to contact the accreditation department at accred@aota.org if you have any questions or concerns.
